About Photographer

I grew up in the mountains of Colorado and finished my senior year of high school in the Denver area. I currently live in southwest Florida where there is an abundance of birds, flowers and beautiful sunsets. Growing up in Colorado and residing in Florida has given me a love for nature. A carpenter by trade, I like lines and angles and have an appreciation for architecture and man made objects. When I travel outside of Florida, I try to capture the nature and the architecture of the area I am visiting and include both in my photography. Basically, I photograph everything and anything that appeals to my eye.
During my teenage years I owned a cheap little camera of the drugstore variety and loved to take pictures of everything under the sun. I was constantly exploring and experimenting. What I could capture with the camera has always fascinated me. I couldn't take a lot of pictures then because they were too expensive to develop. I took them only for my pleasure to see what I could capture. It never occurred to me that others might enjoy them.
My photography was put on the shelf and in fact, completely forgotten, as I got involved in family, career, bills, etc.. About a gazillion years later, I came home from work to see a beautiful Nikon 35mm film camera and lenses on the table. I asked my wife what this was all about and she replied, "It's my gift to you". I wasn't trying to be mean but it was like giving me a sewing machine. I said, "This is very, very nice, but what am I going to do with it?". At the time, I had completely forgotten I liked photography and the desire had vanished. She remembered us talking about my love for photography as I was growing up and she wanted to rekindle that passion in my life. I was doubtful that I could even raise that desire from the dead, so to speak, but a few pictures here, a few pictures there and before I knew it, all I wanted to do was to breathe, eat and sleep photography. Many, many thanks to my wife for awakening the photo bug.
I hope you enjoy my photographs as much as I enjoy taking them. Thank you for viewing my website!
